Following his graduation, he expanded his skills and knowledge further by enrolling himself in aesthetics related courses including training led by leading doctors in the field. His interest in medical aesthetics started after being singled out due to his visible acne scars in his teenage years. He began researching further on how to combat acne and other related skin problems.
When he first started his practice, The Chelsea Clinic, he came about to know of a new treatment in the states that uses light to treat skin problems. He did his research and soon brought in the Intense Pulse Light technology (IPL) to Singapore. He became one of the first to offer such treatments using IPL which uses light beams as well as wavelengths to combat skin problems such as hair removal, skin pigmentation or simply rejuvenating the skin. His forward thinking to bring such technologies in Singapore made him known in the medical aesthetics field. He went on to bring other minimal and non invasive treatments that went on to gain popularity in Singapore. His minimal and non invasive treatments include addressing acne, scarring caused by acne, skin pigmentations and other skin conditions that would otherwise require invasive treatments.
In addition to intense pulsed light and cosmetic lasers, Dr Chee also possess utmost expertise in non-invasive facial sculpting procedure using Botox and fillers. He has attended the Master Class for Trainers Workshop on Botox and Juvederm and most recently been appointed as the local trainer for Algeness Filler in Singapore – A 100% natural and biodegradable dermal filler. A combination of Botox and fillers can help patients to achieve a much coveted and desirable V-shaped face with zero down time as the whole procedure is non-invasive and does not require going under the knife.
In the most recent years, Dr Chee took a growing interest in the Korean medical aesthetic technology due to its remarkably impressive aesthetic techniques. This inspired him to establish Gangnam Laser Clinic, currently situated in One Raffles Place and Harbourfront Centre, focusing on laser toning for skin rejuvenation and the re-contouring of facial profile using non-invasive treatments. The clinic has onboard Korean plastic surgeons as the medical advisors to stay up-to-date with the latest Korean aesthetic technologies available. The clinic opened it’s first outlet in Singapore in 2013 offering medical aesthetic treatments with a Korean approach to the local patients in Singapore.
His aim is to provide state-of-the-art Korean treatments through Gangnam Laser Clinic to the Singapore market by using treatment methods and protocols employed in Korea, which are more suitable for Asian skin conditions. Each treatment is always preceded by a full facial aesthetic consultation with a trained aesthetic physician who will tailor a treatment plan for the patient to provide the most suitable treatment with the best outcome.
Today, the medical group which includes both The Chelsea Clinic and Gangnam Laser Clinic have achieved tremendous growth, allowing themselves to be known as one of Singapore’s biggest medical groups.
